Volunteer Awards

A special way to recognise and reward volunteers is to create club awards that recognise a variety of volunteers: committee members, coaches, officials, canteen managers, grounds people, fundraisers, etc.

Volunteer awards could include:

Volunteer of the month - A volunteer is profiled and celebrated on the club website, in the newsletter, on a noticeboard or on the club’s Facebook page.

Volunteer of the year - The volunteer could receive a gift and have his/her name on a perpetual trophy or honour board. This award could be given status at the club’s annual presentation event.

State volunteer awards - Volunteers could be nominated for a local, state and/or national volunteer award. There are many to consider. Two excellent local opportunities include the Sport SA Awards and the Office for Volunteers awards.
