PBTR is a website that provides information, interactive scenarios and free online training for coaches officials, administrators and players. It aims to assist sport and recreation organisations provide inclusive, safe and fair environments. The site includes information regarding the legal responsibilities under equal opportunities, discrimination and child protection laws, in a very user-friendly format. ONLINE Beginning Coaching General Principles (ex Level 1)
Duration: Allow 6 hours
The Beginning Coaching General Principles online course has been developed to assist coaches to learn the basic skills of coaching. It is especially aimed at people coaching children. The online course is currently available free of charge to Australian coaches.
The course contains five modules, which cover a range of general coaching topics including; the role and responsibilities expected of a coach, planning, safety, working with parents, communication, group management and inclusive coaching practices when working with people with disability or special population groups.
The course takes approximately 6 hours to complete, and there is assessment included within the course. Coaches have 6 months to complete the course after they register.

Essentials for Coaching Children Presenter Orientation
Duration: 1.5 hours
In order to provide greater access to the newly developed Essentials for Coaching Children Course to coaches and teachers, the Office for Recreation and Sport is offering a Presenter Orientation Courses for suitably qualified and experienced people. To determine if you meet the pre-requisites to become an ECC course presenter please read the document attached (140kb PDF).
If you meet the pre-requisites, you may apply to attend a free ECC Presenter Orientation Course,.
If your application to complete this course is successful, upon course completion you will be registered with the ORS as an ECC Presenter and will be able to deliver the ECC course to clubs and schools as and when needed.
All ECC courses must be registered through the ORS and delivered only by a registered ECC presenter.
This course is not currently in the ORS Training Calendar. However, if you wish to register your interest to attend a course, please do so by emailing
orscoachingandofficiating@sa.gov.au. Should enough interest be registered we will add a course to the training calendar.
