What is the 'Thanks'
Campaign?
Volunteers give their time, effort and quite often contribute
financially to be of assistance to their organisation. We
believe that recognition of volunteers is an important part
of the sport and recreation industry and have developed a
‘Thanks’ program that includes:

Official' breakfasts
These breakfasts provide:
- An excellent opportunity for sports to recognise
their hardworking coaches and officials
- An opportunity to network with people of
similar interests, whilst enjoying presentations from quality
sport and recreation speakers:

Bruce McAvaney: 24 October 2008
South Australian born Seven Network commentator well known for his AFL commentary and also commentating at every summer Olympic Games from 1984 - 2008.
Noted for his animated enthusiasm and meticulous research into the athletes competing in the events he calls.
Roger Rasheed: 18 July 2008
- Highly regarded International Tennis Coach
- Coached Lleyton Hewitt from 2003 - 2007 where he rose from a ranking of 19 to number 2, made 2 Grand Slam finals and won 9 titles
- 2006 he took on the role of Davis Cup assistant coach.

SA Volunteers Day
The South Australian Government values the significant contribution made by volunteers across the State. In recognition of this enormous effort, it has proclaimed a special day in their honour.
Volunteers Day is celebrated on the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday each year. To celebrate this day the Office for Volunteers hosts a free recognition event. The next Volunteers Day is Monday, 9 June 2008.
