- Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training and network
Underpinning the Harassment Free Sport Strategy is a network of trained Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO’s) in each state, previously known as MPO’s.
A club or state association can nominate a person to take on the role of MPIO but they must receive the endorsement of their state body.

MPIO Network Forums - 1 hour (twice yearly)
- Designed to provide an opportunity for MPIO’s across sports to share experiences and ideas and also communicate changed and or up to date information relative to their role.
- ORS in coordinating these briefings will target a guest speaker (for example a Professional Legal Representative specialising in Sport’s Law) to speak on a topic of interest).
MPIO Up Date Workshops (held on a needs basis)
- For previously trained MPOs, mediators, Harassment Contact and Complaints Officers.
- Enables participants to enhance their skills and be briefed on the effective use of the Play by the Rules Agency Referral Guide.
- Inform them of the new government regulations for Child Safe Environments implemented in January 2008.
The purpose of the forums is to provide an opportunity for MPIO's across sports to share experiences and ideas and also communicate up to date information relative to their role.
