| Clubs - Club
and Association Management Program (CAMP)
One key to running a successful club is to ensure
that the club has access to skilled and knowledgeable members
and volunteers.
Clubs that offer training are more successful
because they attract and retain more volunteer helpers, attract
and retain more members and reduce risk.
Training can include:
- CAMP- a series of modules to assist people
and organisations improve their knowledge and skills
- VMP - a set of modules specifically focussing
on the area of volunteers
More information on the modules is available
from the Australian
Sports Commission.
Access to the training can be arranged in several
ways;
- Through your Local Council – to offset
the cost of training many Local Councils provide access
to the CAMP/VMP courses during the year. Contact your Council’s
Recreation and Sport Officer to find out more.
- Through your State Association – many
State Sport and Recreation Organisations provide access
to training for their members and affiliates
- Arrange a course for your club - the ORS
can arrange a course specifically for your club.
