PROGRAM
OVERVIEW
Program Purpose / Aim
The SASI Netball Program caters for the development and support of SA athletes currently or identified as capable of progressing along the Netball Performance Pathway.
Program Key Objectives:
- For the SASI program to generate athletes who are capable of delivering skills consistently under pressure in a seamless transition through the pathway to AIS, Aust Talent Squads, ANL and ANZ Champs
- For the SASI full scholarship holders to satisfy the criteria of ‘has genuine potential” to play for the National 21 & Under Team / Diamonds / ANL and ANZ Champs rather than have an age limitation
- For the SASI program to utilise all available funding to produce a ‘best practice’ program incorporating the full suite of institute services individually tailored to each full scholarship holder working towards touring and ANZ match preparation simulation
- For the SASI Program to align more closely with Thunderbirds senior program and have many opportunities to immerse athletes across the programs
- For the SASI program to provide the base of talent for the ANL Program, the underpinning program for ANZ Championships so that training can take place all year round, and give better weighting to the priority of ANL
- For the SASI coaching program to foster positive “dual care” relationships with partner coaches of athletes participating in Premier League
Program Description
The program aims to provide world class coaching, training, competition, facilities and support services to improve the athlete’s competitive performance.
Athletes will be eligible for inclusion into the SASI Netball Program based on their performance relative to selection criteria for one of the scholarship categories.

NATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE PROGRAM
The SASI Netball Program is a partnership program funded and supported by the South Australian government through SASI in partnership with both National and State Sporting Organisation. A key partner in the program is Netball Australia who contributes funding support to the program as part of its National High Performance Plan. The NTC endorsement of the program recognises the status of the program in the sports National High Performance Pathway and also the indirect funding contribution to the SASI program by the Australian Sports Commission through Netball Australia.
