What is a SASI High Performance and Paralympic Scholarship?
The SASI High Performance and Paralympic Scholarship Program offers financial and
service assistance to individual athletes who have achieved
an elite level of performance in their sport at the senior open level.
SASI High Performance and Paralympic Scholarships are not available
for athletes in sports where SASI conducts a SASI
Squad Scholarship Program.
The High Performance and Paralympic Scholarship Program has
been designed to assist successful applicants:
- implement a 12 month training and competition
program
- have access to SASI physiology and psychology
services, information resources, career and education advice,
strength and conditioning advice and facilities
- offset the costs associated with high performance
coaching, training, competition and equipment
Who can apply for a SASI High Performance or Paralympic
Scholarship?
Before an athlete can be considered for
a SASI High Performance or Paralympic Scholarship, the following requirements
must be satisfied.
The athlete must be:
- An Australian citizen
- Registered as a competitor with the relevant
State Sporting Association (SSA) that is affiliated with
a recognised National Sporting Organisation (NSO)
- Engaged in a comprehensive program of intensive
training and competition in a highly competitive international
sport at the senior level
- Intending to compete in their sport throughout the scholarship period or be engaged in a planned rehabilitation program for the next 12 months or part thereof
How do you apply for a SASI High Performance or Paralympic Scholarship?
The athlete will:
- Print and complete the Application Form.
- Forward the scholarship application form to SASI before the closing date

What is the process for assessing scholarship
applications?
- Scholarship applications will be assessed by the SASI Sports Funding Committee.
- The committee takes into consideration the performance achievements and the international and national rankings provided by the SSA and NSO
- A letter advises scholarship applicants of
the outcome of their application
- State Sporting Associations will also be notified
Who endorses the application?
Applicants must have their application endorsed by their:
- Parent or guardian if the applicant is under the age of 18 years
- Current Coach
All applications will be forwarded to the appropriate State Sporting Association or National Sporting Association by SASI for formal endorsement and to rank the applications against other High Performance or Paralympic applicants within your sport.
