About SASI -
Overview
The South Australian Sports Institute (SASI)
conducts programs and services to identify, develop and support
athletes with the potential to perform at the highest national
and international levels of sport.
Established in 1982, SASI was Australia's first
state sports institute. SASI is a South Australian Government
initiative, and is a division of the Office for Recreation
and Sport.
Our Mission
Assisting talented SA athletes to pursue excellence and
achieve national and international sporting success
We achieve this by
- Conducting world class sports scholarships
and squad training programs
- Providing high quality and intensive training,
coaching and competition opportunities
- Delivering leading edge scientific and technical
support
- Supporting the holistic development of athletes,
coaches and staff
- Developing strategic partnerships to achieve

SASI World Class Training Centre
SASI is a recognised world class training centre and sports
institute. SASI conducts, partners and services elite sport
programs that provide the daily training environment for world
class athletes in some of Australia's most successful programs.

Water Polo
Congratulations goes to first year athletes Chloe Barr, George Bretag-Norris and Ben Mortimer, who have all recently received Messenger Newspaper Sports Awards.
Chloe was awarded a junior female award for her district while George and Ben were part of a winning Pembroke School team, which took out the school team award for their district.
Cycling
Cycling Australia has released the names of cyclists that it intends to nominate to the AOC.
The nominated cyclists include three South Australians, SASi cyclists Jack Bobridge (SASI Full Scholarship holder) & Luke Roberts (SASi Pro Scholarship holder) join Stuart O'Grady (former SASI scholarship holder). Men's Football
Four SASI members have been selected in the Australian Under 16 Football squad to take part in the ASEAN Championships in Indonesia. Nathan Farrell, Joseph Costa, Chahine Noujaim and Teddy Yabio will take part in the tournament, which will be held in Jakarta from July 7 to 20.
