Scholarships for Coaches, Officials & Volunteers

ARE YOU A COACH, OFFICIAL OR VOLUNTEER LOOKING FOR FUNDING? The time you give to your sport or active recreation club is valued. Scholarships for 2011/2012 are now closed. The next round of scholarships will open in early January 2012.

Scholarships are available to individuals to support the training and development of coaches, officials and volunteers.

• Wendy Ey Memorial Coaching Scholarships for Women
• Coaching Scholarships (for men and women)
• Officiating Scholarships
• Individual Volunteer Scholarships
• Current Scholarship Holders

Other scholarships for coaches:

• National Coaching Scholarship Program (Australian Sports Commission)

Other funding to support volunteers:

• Volunteer Support Fund (Office for Volunteers)

Wendy Ey Memorial Coaching Scholarships for Women

Wendy Ey was committed to enhancing opportunities for women in Recreation and Sport and through these scholarships her legacy continues. The scholarships aim to encourage and assist female coaches throughout South Australia to achieve success in their chosen sport.

Women wishing to nominate must:

• Be a current NCAS coach with a minimum Level 1 accreditation in their chosen sport
• Have the entry form signed by their State Sporting Organisation
• Be bound by the Coaches Code of Ethics
• Be a permanent resident of South Australia
• Not have received a Wendy Ey Scholarship in the past

Coaching Scholarships (for men and women)

These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance for volunteer coaches to further develop skills in their chosen area.

To be eligible coaches must:

• Demonstrate a commitment to coaching - have completed an Essentials for Coaching Children / Orientation to Coaching course

• Provide a signed supporting letter from their club president or secretary
• Be bound by the coaching Code of Ethics
• Be a permanent resident of South Australia.

Officiating Scholarships

These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance for volunteer officials to further develop skills in their chosen area.

To be eligible officials must:

• Demonstrate experience in officiating and have officiated a minimum of one full season

• Provide a signed supporting letter from their club president or secretary
• Be bound by the officiating Code of Ethics
• Be a permanent resident of South Australia.

Individual Volunteer Scholarships

These scholarships aim to provide opportunities for Sport & Recreation volunteers to attend training programs to assist with development of skills required in their role.

To be eligible volunteers must:

• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to volunteering in sport or recreation.
• Provide a signed supporting letter from their club president or secretary.
• Be a permanent resident of South Australia.
