Governance, Diversity and Opportunity - Are you on board?
On Monday, 7 April 2014, the Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS) hosted the Sport and Women Conference: Governance, Diversity and Opportunity: Are you on Board? in Adelaide. The focus of the conference was the importance of gender diversity in the management and governance of modern organisations and, in particular, sport.

Paul gave an overview of the current position in regard to gender diversity in sport management at international, national and state levels.
He stressed the importance of ensuring that changes are systemic and not left to chance; and that gender balance in sports administration at the most senior levels and on sports boards should be achieved for the benefit of the sector. Demonstrating the importance ORS places on Governance, Diversity and Opportunity in the sport sector, it was announced there would be an annual diversity conference.

Catherine explored why women are involved in sport industry. What would sport look like if more women were involved? Diversity is crucial. Sport is beyond having Boards that are "pale, male and stale".
